"Africa suffers the equivalent of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami every month of every year, a deadly tide of disease and hunger that rarely makes the TV news but causes thousands of people to die quietly and out of sight every day. In years to come, future generations will look back and ask: how could our world have known all this and yet done nothing?"

Purpose

Students at Computer

The main purpose of this website is to generate funds for the education of disadvantaged children and young adults in Africa - particularly in Tanzania and Zambia. We believe that access to education is vital for the future. Many huge problems exist in the countries across Africa. Education is only one part of the solution, but it is a vital part.

You can support by simply donating via the links on the various pages, contacting the identified organisations directly, or by contacting us via email. If you require further information please contact us directly.

Background

Village MarketContact with refugees from Sudan and families from Zimbabwe introduced us to the cultures of Africa, and allowed us to become involved in some aspects of their community life. Over time we learned a little of life in their home countries.

In the early months of 2009 we were privileged to spend sometime as volunters and visitors in Tanzania and Zambia. There we learned more of the daily challenges faced by the patient and courageous peoples of Africa. Secondary education fees for a child can cost three months basic wages, and tertiary education fees will be at least ten months pay or more.

With high unemployment rates and many orphans there are many bright young Africans who will be confined to subsistence living - unless they receive help. This website is about giving help, and generating hope.

Where will the funds be used?
